Ballet/Tap Combo Classes

Dance Contempra offers a variety of classes that are one half hour of Ballet and one half hour of Tap.

Ballet/Tap Combo classes are designed for kids ages 3 to 6 and center around neuromuscular development.  Dancers play a series of games in order to disguise ballet and tap techniques. These classes will take place in our small studio. Please note that we invite parents to come in and watch/observe the last class of every month August-January. We are working hard to develop and teach appropriate dance class etiquette. This is crucial for proper advancement in dance training.

No Prerequisites are required for these classes!

These classes will perform one discipline in the Spring Recital (usually Ballet).

Classical Ballet is the “Mother of all Dance”.  All other dance forms are built from Ballet; hence a dancer’s proficiency in ballet directly correlates to how proficient they will be in all other disciplines.

Shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” are constantly encouraging contestants to take “technique classes”.  Classical ballet is what they are speaking of.  We do not require students to take ballet but we strongly urge the importance of classical ballet technique in order to improve and advance.

Once Students reach level 5 ballet technique they will be required to take a minimum of 2 ballet classes per week in order to advance.
