Dance Contempra's Centre for Dance Education is home to Evolving Pointe Ensemble, a non-profit 501(c)(3) performance dance group founded in October 2003. Our focus is to provide cultural enrichment in the arts, specifically dance, through community outreach performances.  Performances include two annual "recitals" with a winter show, which has included the "Nutcracker", "The Grinch...A Contemporary Ballet", “Babes in Toyland”, “12 Dancing Princesses”, and "Frozen, A Christmas Ballet".  The spring show is typically presented in "Concert Dance" format, but has also included storybook ballets such as "Cinderella".  Company members also perform several times between the two major shows during the school year.  Evolving Pointe Ensemble presently sponsors FREE Master Classes for company members as well as all in the dance community.  The company sponsors renowned dance artists to teach a guest class and advertises the class in local papers and on its website.  Artists to date have included Christopher Fairbank (former principal dancer with ABT II), Armando Luna (principal dancer with Atlanta Ballet), and Peter Poulos (former principal dancer with Kris Kangelosi).

Evolving Pointe Ensemble is organized into Junior and Senior Companies. Students must be between intermediate and advanced technical levels and must pass an audition for a spot in the company.  Company-level technical requirements are available upon request.  Students auditioning must be at least 10 years old and be "en pointe".
