Attendance, Make-Up & Withdrawal Policy
At Dance Contempra, consistent attendance is essential for student progress, class development, and performance readiness.
Absences:
Please mark all absences in your parent portal account so our instructors are aware before class. You may also email the studio if needed. We ask that all absences be communicated as early as possible, ideally before class begins.
Punctuality:
Students are expected to arrive on time, prepared, and ready to participate. Being on time allows dancers to fully warm up and safely engage in class activities.
Make-Up Classes:
Absences may be made up in a class of the same subject and age group during the same month of the missed class, pending availability. Make-up classes must be arranged with studio approval unless otherwise directed by the instructor.
Please note that during recital season, make-up classes may not always be available or applicable due to choreography, staging, and spacing limitations.
Refunds:
No refunds will be issued for missed classes.
Recital Season Attendance:
Excessive absences during recital preparation may result in removal from the class if the instructor determines that it is impacting the progress or performance of the group. While this is never our preference, it may be necessary to ensure fairness and consistency for all students.
If a costume has already been ordered, no refund will be issued. Any unpaid costume fees remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian, and the costume will be provided once it arrives.
We kindly ask that all recital-season absences be reported by a parent/guardian before class time whenever possible by logging the absence in your parent portal or calling the studio.
Withdrawal Policy:
Dance Contempra requires a 30-day written notice of withdrawal from any class or program. Withdrawal requests must be submitted by email to the studio and are not considered effective until written confirmation has been received.
Tuition will continue to be charged during the 30-day notice period, regardless of attendance. Verbal notification to an instructor or staff member does not constitute official withdrawal. Families are responsible for all tuition and fees incurred until the withdrawal process has been completed.
Please note that costume fees, registration fees, and other non-refundable charges remain the responsibility of the parent/guardian and will not be refunded upon withdrawal.
Class Observation:
Dance Contempra invites parents to observe the last class of each month from September through January. At times, doors may remain open during class to allow limited observation while also encouraging students to grow in independence and performance focus.
We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a focused, respectful, and productive learning environment for all dancers.
